Speaker Dr. Doug Yau is a co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at STRUT Learning. Doug is an Emotional Intelligence (EQ) instructor, startups investor and warm-hearted people manager. Doug has a Ph.D, MBA (Change Management), and graduate certificates in EQ. Doug has a talent for people development and teaches workshops on improving EQ in professionals. Having seen the positive effects of increasing his own EQ, Doug has made it a priority to teach the next generation, so that they may enjoy academic and career success and in turn enhance society as a whole.

Title: STRUT-CTUF SELDA Workshop
Who: In partnership with Chicago Teacher’s Union Foundation(CTUF)
When: Monday, August 24, 10-11 am
Summary: This workshop is a hands-on, interactive conversation on how to better reach students during remote learning, led by CPS teachers and EQ/ SEL experts. The challenges our children and their families are facing during remote learning require us to find innovative ways to support their academic and socio-emotional development. SELDA is a research-based and innovative EQ/ SEL digital assessment tool (created by CPS teachers and researchers) that will provide educators with high-quality data and resources to holistically engage their students. SELDA can also provide educators with insights into their practice that will enhance their ability to keep a strong connection with their students.
